About Morrow Surveying

The Morrow Surveying Story

Morrow Surveying got its start in the 1940s when Matt’s grandfather, Frank Morrow, learned the surveying profession during his time as a Fire Direction Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.
After completing his service, Frank worked for various public and private survey and engineering firms before obtaining his professional license. In 1971, Frank partnered with Emmott Sutcliffe to form Sutcliffe & Morrow. Around the same time, his son Tom Morrow graduated from Davis High School in 1972 and began working with the newly formed business soon after.
Tom went on to work for the Spink Corporation in 1975 before purchasing the company from his father in 1982, renaming it Tom O. Morrow, Inc., which would later become the Morrow Surveying we know today.
Now, more than 40 years later, a third-generation Morrow, Matt Morrow, has taken the reins as CEO. Under Matt’s leadership, the company has expanded into drone surveying and advanced mapping technologies while continuing to uphold the same values, principles, and dedication to customer service that began with his grandfather more than 50 years ago.
